Jar
One of my friends gave me a piece of Japanese Cypress.
Although we came across Japanese Cypress often, we didn't see this specific kind of wood before. We were curious about the grain, so we decided to set it up on my lathe.

It was not too difficult to turn since the wood was kind of soft.
After took down the bark, the grain was very beautiful. It was a bit yellowish with darker grain. Under the proper lighting, the grain even appeared to be golden!
As I continued to turn, the color changed into pink.
In order to show how the color changed, I decided to shape this jar with some curvy lines.

The scent was pleasant. However, the scent could be too strong while sanding for some people.

All in all, this was a fun experience.
