Candle Holders

Casuarina equisetifolia on the left. Unknown wood on the right.

I got a piece of casuarinas equisetifolia from a friend awhile ago. It was very beautiful, and the grain was very different from what I have used so far. It was a little bit crispy like when I working on it, but it turned out great. It definitely was not soft wood, but there was not too much trouble when it came to sanding.

Candle holder and goblet shared some similar characters. Looks like this can be an alternative subject for the beginner class.

I didn’t mean to make a set of candle holders, but these two looked all right together.

Therefore, it got me thinking. . .

What qualities contributed to “a set”? How can I make two completely different objects become a set.

Well, I guess I have to find out the answers in my future projects.
